I'm drawn to Bruce Lee's story and work. As with many famous people, it's always hard to draw a line between reality and mythology, but it doesn't matter. On the contrary, it probably adds even more to my fascination. Anyway, the other day, I found myself again reading about his life and work. In particular, I was reading about Jeet Kune Do, the martial art he created and his struggles in defining it. He wanted to step away from the idea of "style" as a form distinct from other forms. His whole journey into martial arts was about freeing himself "from clinging to styles, patterns, or molds."
