I stole this question from the great Peter Hawkins, whom I had the fortune and honour to listen to a few days ago at a conference. If you don't know him, check out his fundamental contributions to leadership, system coaching, team coaching, and supervision.
What can you uniquely do that the world of tomorrow needs?
He asked this question to an audience of coaches and mentors, and it immediately resonated with me. In my intervention, I always invite people to discover their unique gifts, the combination of natural inclinations and talents that make them shine naturally and easily generate joy and fulfilment in the world.
I invite you to look for a handful because it's the combination of all of them that makes you unique, like the ingredients of a special recipe.
But this question from Hawkins adds another layer to this quest for uniqueness: the needs of the world of tomorrow. It reminds me of my responsibility to nurture and harness my unique gifts to serve the world and the future.
So, what can you uniquely do that the world of tomorrow needs?
P.S. I'll share mine in the comments.
This what I uniquely do that I believe the world of tomorrow needs:
! can wait, fast, think and learn.
I am a restless seeker of truth.
I draw lines that connect.
I can hold space on the edge of chaos.
I leave nobody behind.
What can you uniquely do that the world of tomorrow needs?
I'd love to learn about your gift!
