Sometimes it flows, sometimes it doesn't.
That's it.
Whatever creative work you're trying to do, sometimes you feel inspired, and everything flows effortlessly. But other days, it just doesn't.
And when it doesn't, it's tempting to give up and wait for a better day, one when inspiration flows.
But that is not how it works.
First, you only know if inspiration will visit you once you start working. If you wait to be inspired, you may never begin.
Second, each day where creativity flows is built on the many days it didn't, but you showed up anyway.
This is the secret of any creative work.
To show up for the work even when inspiration does not.
And life is a creative journey. One in which you are the art and the artist.
So, if you want to be the creator of your own life, you must show up and do the work. And when it doesn't flow, you suck it up and move forward anyway.
Be not afraid of growing slowly; be afraid only of standing still. — Chinese Proverb
