"I am sorry to have made such a long speech, but I did not have time to write a shorter one." – Winston Churchill
Yesterday, I tried to complete the exercise I devised, but I have yet to make any progress so far.
Good old Winston was right: keeping things short is hard.
When you have only a limited space to express something, every piece must be meaningful. You need to do more than just go around hoping to aim the point somehow. That's why being concise in writing or everything else is much more difficult. It means removing all things that are not essential so the essence of your message can shine through.
But you can only do that when you are clear about what you want to share. I've learned that the clearer my message is in my head and heart, the fewer words I need.
However, Finding that clarity takes time, effort and the willingness to subtract.
