One Apple A Day #967 - expectations
How do you deal with expectations? Your own and the ones of others.
I admit that sometimes they get under my skin.
I'm aware that the outcome of what I do is vital. In the end, it is what others will experience. They won't see the process with its struggles.
The outcome is what really matters.
Like anyone else, I want to deliver an impact through my work. I want people to look at my work and think that it is worth their time.
However, the outcome can quickly get in the way of my presence.
I've experienced it many times.
When I'm worried about the results, my mind goes everywhere but in the here and now, affecting the outcome.
Quite a paradox. The more I focus on the outcome I want to create, the less I can deliver it.
I practice this every morning with these posts.
Anytime I get worried about writing something interesting, I struggle to find the words.
So, I take a deep breath and tell myself that if it doesn't work today, it will work tomorrow.
Most of the time, it works.
