One Apple A Day #951 - there are other ways, but are we looking for them?
I don't understand.
Or maybe I understand, and I just can't accept it.
How come that despite the technological advancements, the almost infinite knowledge, the extraordinary innovations we're relentlessly creating every day, we still can't think of a better solution than violence and war to solve so many issues?
I'm watching what's happening in Palestine, and my heart bleeds.
How can we explain this to a child?
Sure, we create machines that can think, but we can't find a better solution than throwing a bomb and kill someone to solve a conflict.
I know that things are complex, and there are so many levels.
What I don't understand, though, is how it is possible that the most innovative and advanced countries in the world can't think of better ways to act and respond to conflicts and tensions.
I know there are other ways.
But are we looking for them?
I have no answers, but these words from 14-year-old activist Xiuhtezcatl Martinez came up for me this morning.
"The biggest challenge we face is shifting human consciousness, not saving the planet. Because the planet doesn't need saving, we do."
And we definitely need saving.
