One Apple A Day #922 - when they get to the head
It's in my head.
It's there, and it's expanding.
Maybe you had a similar experience.
It usually starts as an emotion triggered by some external event.
Maybe a word from someone, a gesture or something that just happens.
In the beginning, you dismiss it because you don't like how that emotion makes you feel.
You want peace. Who doesn't?
So, you push that emotion to the side and move on with your life.
But emotions are tricky stuff.
You can't tell them what to do or not to do.
You can only take care of them.
And if you don't, they work their way up.
They move through your body and get to your heart.
Still, with your incredible reasoning power, you push them aside.
"Don't bother me. I have more important things to do."
Emotions, however, don't care about logic.
So, that emotion keeps moving on until it gets to your head.
Emotions, like gas, expand and fill up all the available space.
Bit by bit, they sneak between your thoughts.
Until you can't think clearly anymore.
No matter how hard you try, you can only see that emotion wherever you point your mind.
You can't avoid it anymore.
Has it ever happened to you?
What do you do when you find your mind clogged by emotions?
