One Apple A Day #91
He woke up with a big headache, like if someone was pushing hard on both his temples.
It was dark with glimpses of colourful lights. He can’t remember where he was. What was that dark place. He tried to move his legs and arms, but they were tied or blocked somehow. Why? How did it happen? Everything was blurred in his mind. He can’t remember anything. He tried to control the breathing. He recalled an old image from his memory. An old man with a deep voice telling him “slowly breathe in, slowly breathe out”.
It took him a few moments to realise that it wasn’t dark. His eyes were shut. His eyelids sealed. He tried to open his eyes, but they weren’t responding to his commands. Arms and legs were not tied, he can’t feel any rope or chain. They were just refusing to follow his will. He didn’t have control of his body. Was it a drug? He tried to explore his memories searching for an explanation to what was happening. He found images and sounds, but he can’t understand if they were real or he was just dreaming.
He was trapped inside is own body. Unable to do anything.
Something cold hit him suddenly in the face sending an electric shock through all his nervous network. It was like if someone switched the power on sending energy back into the system. The shock woke up every cell in his body. And then came the pain. He surged like a wave. It started with the legs, and the muscles contracted with cramps. Then the pain moved up. Every inch of his body was painful. He opened his eyes, and the light hit him with his brightness. Everything was white. For a moment he thought that it was better when his body was unresponsive. Then the memories resurfaced. And with them came back the fear.
