One Apple A Day #871 - Equality
Equality. Such a relevant word nowadays.
I'm not sure I have the tools, the experience or the words to talk about something so important. For sure, not in terms of systems and configurations of society.
But this series is based on cards that refer to our inner strengths.
So, here I am asking myself, how do I nurture the strength of equality in me?
Because one thing I know for sure; equality begins within and then manifests through our words and actions. It starts by recognising that we are all equal and all unique at the same time.
Like in the little story about the waves and the water, every wave is unique, but they are all made of water.
The same essence manifests in different forms.
That's the ideal.
Reality is that I have biases like anyone else.
I worked on them, and I keep working, but it takes time, patience and self-compassion. So, I believe the first step to developing the strength of equality is to have an honest conversation with ourselves to acknowledge our biases to change them.
