One Apple A Day #816 - distracted
I don't know you, but I easily get distracted.
A quick check for new messages on the phone becomes an endless scroll through stuff I don't even care about. One short video on something I'm researching for an article and I found myself jumping between useless videos I forget immediately after I watched them.
Sometimes it's even more devious. Like when I want to research more info about something that I feel can be valuable for my work. But then I discover that that thing is linked to another fascinating topic. And then to another one. And without even noticing, I'm taking detours after detours until I get lost.
Sure, over the years, I developed a few strategies. Like removing all notifications from my device, schedule my creative work or using different focus techniques.
But I'm so good at distracting myself that I can do it without any external aids. I can get distracted by my own mind.
Like when I was thinking about writing this post, and I ended up visualising ways in which I would refurbish the room in which I work.
And so?
I haven't found "the" solution yet.
I know that when I enter the bubble, I can do a lot in short amounts of time. But that bubble is a tricky one to get into.
So, suggestions are always welcome.
