One Apple A Day #803 - the sun and the moon
For the second time in the last two weeks, yesterday morning, the sun and the moon were both visible in the sky. The sun was still in his early morning golden colours, over there on the easter side of the sky. The moon was white but not pale, up there on the west side of a perfect blue canvas.
Seen both of them up there together, it made me things at the many dichotomies I experience in my life. Those things that, like sun and moon, I think can't exist in the same plane.
Though, here they are, both up there in the morning blue sky.
In particular, I began to think about the tension that I sense in me and that I observe around me, between my individual aspirations and the collective wellbeing. I grew up thinking that they can't really go together. I must sacrifice some of my personal ambitions for the greater good. Or I shouldn't worry too much about others if I want to achieve success. I feel that many people live in the space between those extremes. For a long time, I thought that the only solution to this tension was a compromise. But something within me says that there is a third way. One in which individuals ambitions and the greater good are in perfect harmony, sustaining each other.
Like the moon and the sun, they can share the same sky.
I just have to find my third way.
