One Apple A Day #394
And then, there are days like today.
Days in which my mind goes blank, and I don’t know what to write.
This morning ritual of mine is about the act of writing not the content.
Its purpose is just to practice writing.
Just that.
No need to share something meaningful or a story.
Once the words are out there, my daily goal is accomplished.
But along the journey, this ritual became something more.
It is my morning anchor.
Something that awakes my creative self and sets the tone for the day.
So, what I write became also important.
Some morning I go beyond the 15 minutes I’ve planned because I want to share something that I feel important and I don’t want to leave it unfinished.
And then, a morning like this arrives to remind me why I am doing this ritual.
It is not what I write that matter.
It is writing.
And that’s so liberating.
Just write.
One word, then a second one and after a while the page is full.
And even if I haven’t shared something meaningful, my creativity comes alive.
Like today.
All these words probably mean nothing to you.
But right now I can feel the connection with my creative self.
And that’s what all of this is about.
The power of a ritual is not in its outcome.
It is in the constant daily practice.
Now I am ready for breakfast.
