One Apple A Day #376
A friend yesterday posted a powerful quote.
“No tree, it is said, can grow to heaven unless its roots reach down to hell.” ― Carl Jung
I always struggled with my own demons.
I grew up with the idea that a right person is pure.
I remember when, as a kid, it was easy to draw a line between the good ones and the sinners.
Like in the fairytales.
Naturally, I wanted to be among the good guys.
Then I grew up, and I discover that life is more complicated than a fairytale.
Every human being is a universe, carrying lights and shadows.
Still, it was hard for me to deal with my inner demons.
So, I kept burying them and hiding them deep within hoping that no one will ever see them.
Last may, during a compelling experience with other men I had the opportunity to look my demons in the eyes. I understood that they are part of who I am and, if I want to be complete, if I want to shine I have to learn to talk to them.
It’s not easy.
Guilt is always there, ready to bite.
