One Apple A Day #364
“How do I show up every day?”
A few days ago I received one of the first freshly printed BeTheChange set of cards. I can’t find the words to describe the feeling of seeing something I’ve been talking about for months, finally becoming real. I’m honoured for the opportunity that Vanessa, the beautiful soul behind these cards, gave me to walk with her on this journey.
But I’m going sideways. I just wanted to clarify from where that vital question is coming from.
How do I show up every day?
As I was writing yesterday, it is through the small daily and mundane things, those things so easy to do that we don’t do them, that we can make a difference. It is easy to remember the big gestures, the fantastic innovation that shifted humanity or the devastating event that shook the world. But what really makes a difference are all the small choices we make every day. How we show up in everything that we do. Even those remarkable events in history that made it to the books are made up of an infinite number of small unnoticeable choices and actions.
How do I show up every day?
How much do I nurture my consciousness? How much of my values am I injecting in my doing? How do I reflect the vision of the world I want in my practices, in my words, in my relationships?
I hear many people talking about how the world should be. How they would make the world better if they were in charge.
You know what?
You are in charge.
We all are in charge.
Do you want peace? Start being kind with everyone you encounter, forgiving everyone who wronged you, avoiding judgement. You may not wipe out all wars, but you may start a ripple effect that can go a lot farther than you had ever imagined.
