One Apple A Day #341
Yesterday I was reflecting about stillness.
The incredible power of staying still, just listening and observing without doing or saying anything.
There is incredible power in silence and empty space.
Yet, we often found them so scary.
Even in the movie, the silence often precedes a scary scene, and empty houses are used to create suspense.
What is so scary about silence?
What are we worried about when we are before an empty space?
No sounds, no movements, no anything.
When the space in front of us is empty.
When there is silence around us.
Nothing is happening outside, so there is nothing to worry about.
And that is the point.
If nothing is happening outside than the problem is on the inside.
If there is silence around us, we may start hearing the voices inside.
We may start to feel. And this can be scary.
If there is empty space before us, we may start letting out what’s inside.
And this can be scary.
But at the same time incredibly powerful.
Silence, space, stillness.
They all carry an extraordinary creative potential.
But you need to win the fear to feel and listen to what’s inside you.
