One Apple A Day #334
[it continues from the previous apple]
I don’t know much about his youth.
There were no social media at that time, so people only focused on living their experiences and not on documenting them.
From the few stories I heard, he was able to enjoy life even if the circumstances were tough. He met the girl that will become the woman of his life, just outside his home.
I don’t know how it went between them.
I’d love to imagine them meeting on the small bridge dividing their properties to talk for hours. And dream about their future.
I know they married very young.
It was a simple wedding, there wasn’t much money at that time, but they had some fun.
In the wedding photos, there is this skinny man with thick black glasses posing with his lovely bride and their friends; the guys all severe and gaunt in their suits while the girls were all colourful with their perfect seventies dresses.
But his unique smile was already there. He used to look at you with a kind of half smile with his thin lips, and you never knew if he was serious or joking.
