One Apple A Day #315
Living abroad, I’m often asked one of the following questions.
“Are you going to live abroad forever?” by people living in my country.
“Are you going to stay here forever?” by people living in the place where I’m staying.
Why is it so important for something to be “forever”?
And what does it mean “forever” after all?
If I say I’m going to stay with a person forever, and one of us dies.
Is it still forever?
Human life is short.
Compare it to the life of the planet on which we live.
A few decades compared to 4.5 billion years.
Our lives are less than a blink.
Maybe this is why we want for everything we love to be forever.
The great news is that it is possible.
You can make your love eternal.
You can make everything lasting forever.
The secret is to focus on the here and now.
When you are fully present in the moment, there is no future, and there is no past.
Whatever you do or feel in this moment, in the here and now, it’s eternal.
It is forever.
Sometimes, we are so focused on making something forever that we forget to live the moment.
And in doing so, we lose our opportunity to make it eternal.
So, stop worrying about making your love lasting forever.
Love now.
