One Apple A Day #292
“Engaging and freeing all the energy”.
Freedom is my most important value in life.
It has always been, since when I was a kid lost in my dreams of adventures with the characters of my beloved books.
But freedom, at some point, was also a source of tensions.
One side of me was seeking adventures, wanting to go wild, avoid responsibilities and any boundaries of society.
The other side wanted to be loved, to belong, to do the right thing. This second part also enjoys the comfort of habits and rituals, the hugs of family and friends.
In my mind, these two sides couldn’t live together. The first gave excitement but at the price of breaking my world. The second gave me peace but taming my freedom and depleting my energy.
So, for a long time, I kept bouncing between the two. Some days I was wild, crazy and free. Others I was the responsible and considerate guy that every mother would trust.
In both cases, I felt guilty. Or I was betraying my energy, or I was betraying the trust of people I love.
I picked this card the first time I used them, a few weeks ago in India. And it was eye-opening. I was trapped in the idea that those two sides of me were alternatives. One or the other.
But what if one becomes the source of the other?
What if I engage my energy instead of just setting it free?
Know I’m finding a new balance. I use the energy of my wild side to enrich my responsible and caring self.
I understood that freedom is more than just unleashing my wild energy.
I need to engage with it so I can transform myself and others.
