One Apple A Day #290
How is your relationship with your soul?
I know mine has been a bit of roller coaster.
To be entirely honest, the soul is such an elusive concept that I even struggle to describe it.
So, as I do in these cases, I asked Google.
I found the following definition in a dictionary.
“the principle of life, feeling, thought, and action in humans, regarded as a distinct entity separate from the body, and commonly held to be separable in existence from the body; the spiritual part of humans as distinct from the physical part.”
What struck me is the idea of the soul as “a distinct entity separate from the body”.
Really? Why do we that? Why do we have to separate the soul from the body?
I see myself as a whole.
My mind, heart, body and soul are all combined to create the person-shaped universe that I am.
Thinking of the soul as a separate entity is dangerous.
It may lead us to focus only on the soul and create a misalignment with the rest of who we are.
The same for all the other parts of us.
When we focus only on one part, we create an unbalance in our life that becomes a source of tensions and stress.
Mind, heart, body and soul must always grow in harmony.
