One Apple A Day #245
Yesterday I was reading the notes I took during a conversion I had with a friend last summer. We were discussing a three days workshop we did together on innovation and change, a few weeks before.
And one thing stood out. I’m not sure why it didn’t hit me before, but this time it was screaming from the pages I jotted down at that time.
She told me that for her, the real change began only once she fell in love with the rest of us in the workshop. At that moment, she committed to let everything out and trust the space we were creating.
She fell in love.
I immediately remembered what my friend Sujith once told me. That the opposite of fear is love. And fear is what holds us back when we want to change. When we want to innovate.
There it was. To fully commit to change, we must overcome fears. We must fall in love.
Do you remember last time you fell in love? How courageous you were? How many crazy things did you do for love?
Innovation is for lovers.
Because only if you are in love, you will have the strength to overcome fears and fully commit to change. And most of all, your innovation will be driven by love and as such, infused with purpose and meaning.
