One Apple A Day #234
Do you remember the last time you did something for the first time?
The feeling in your guts slowing shifting from fear to excitement while you were going through the various stages of preparation, execution and celebration?
The other day a client told me a beautiful thing about intuition.
“When you follow your intuition, every time is the first time.”
“Follow your intuition” is one of those mantras that fit well everywhere. But what does it mean? And how do you know you are following your deep intuition and not some pattern built over time?
Intuition is rooted in your purpose. It’s about acting from that “why” you feel it’s true to you. Most of the time you can’t even explain why you did something, you just know it was the right thing to do.
This is the feeling you must seek. You know you are following your intuition when you feel like it’s a first time. When you get in your guts that mix of fear and excitement. If you don’t feel the butterflies in your stomach maybe you are following your head, not your heart. There is nothing wrong in that. We are thinking beings, and as such, it is essential to think through the things we say and do. But there are situations in life when your reasoning can get you anywhere.
In that case, to unstuck yourself and move forward, you can seek that “first-time” feeling.
