One Apple A Day #233
It’s almost the end of this year.
Christmas is gone.
New Year’s Eve is coming.
These days are a sort of liminal period.
In between two festivities but they are not festive days.
If you are on holiday, your mind is already thinking at work.
If you are working, you’re not entirely present, thinking about the gifts received and planning the next big party.
Some of us review the year just lived while thinking about what to expect from the next one. Others plan new goals for the new one, feeling guilty for the failed objectives of the previous year.
We are in between.
Clinging to the past, that we know it hasn’t been perfect but at least it’s well known.
Craving for the new that it’s scary but full of promises.
I love and fear these five days.
Should I relax and recover to prepare for the next year? Or should I finish strong? Review, analyse, extract the lessons and plan the next one?
Or maybe I should just think less and live more.
