One Apple A Day #222
Torres del Paine, January 12th, 2017
We wake quite early, and during breakfast, we lay down a meticulous plan for the day. It’s the first day since we started when we know precisely what we are going to do from the very beginning. We have drawn the road on the map to reach the park, and we have a detailed plan for the hike at the Torres del Paine. We are very proud of ourselves. After a good breakfast, we collect all our stuff, according to our plan we won’t go back to that hotel, and we drive to the closest pueblo to buy some dried fruits for the hiking and a map with the trekking paths. There is only one shop, that is also the only one café in the pueblo. Not so surprisingly behind the counter, we find the same owner of the hotel. It looks like the guy is doing very well. Just to be sure we ask him his opinion on our plan, and with his approval, we leave to go to the part of Torres del Paine.Everything is going exactly how we planned it. We easily find the road as we had plotted on the map. We arrive at the entrance of the park at 9 am sharp as expected.Together with other thousands of people with their meticulous plans. The queue of cars and people waiting to enter the park is so long that for a moment it feels like being in line to buy the new iPhone. It takes almost 2 hours, 60 dollars and two stamps before we can enter the park.Too late to do what we had meticulously planned but in perfect time to do what we love the most; improvising.
