One Apple A Day #172
Lago Posada, January 7th, 2017
Friday or Today’s afternoon. We were so into the flow that we had lost the sense of time. When had we left Perito Moreno? Was it the same morning or days before? We couldn’t remember. To be fair, since Chile Chico, where the white road had begun, we haven’t thought at all. No mind, just emotions. There were only that moment and that place. As proof, we weren’t tired even if we had already driven a fair amount of kilometres, most of them on narrow white roads, avoiding holes and rocks.
We were like children on a playground for whom the fun is never enough. And when the parents call to go home they always need five minutes more.
With that mindset, we reached the Caretera Austral, probably the major road in Chile, connecting the North with the South of the country. We had driven in the most southern part of the road.
As you would aspect from such a relevant route, it is a narrow white road, full of deep potholes, and sideroad cliffs without guardrails. The most exciting part has been the occasional encounters with trucks going the opposite way.
We surely won’t forget this road.
