One Apple A Day #171
Lago Posada, January 7th, 2017
Thursday or Today’s early afternoon.
After our substantial meal in Puerto Guadal, we were eager to hit the road again. Connecting with the locals was part of our plan, but the real purpose of this journey has always been to experience solitude and empty spaces. There was something magical about being stranded between the Andes.
We drove for a few hours without meeting anyone, struggling to embrace the majesty around us. Everything is bigger in Patagonia. The mountains, the rivers, the lakes and the sky.
The road took us near the shores of the lake we’ve been coasting since we crossed the border. We stopped to sit down on the river and listen to the water. The wind was surprisingly quiet there, so we thought it was the right time to unleash our drone.
We brought the drone from Italy, and we kept it hidden behind the driver’s seat since the beginning of our road trip. From the very first day, the wind had been so strong that we were scared to take it out of its bag.
But there it seemed the perfect place to give it a try. We made it fly over the lake, and it went up in the sky until it almost disappeared from our sights. Then the wind came back, and we had a few scary minutes trying to bring it home.
Another small experience to add to our trip’s journal.
