One Apple A Day #166
Esquel, January 5th, 2017
We both grew up in the countryside, so we have driven on gravel before. But this time is completely different game. We are on a broad, long, empty and winding white road with a rented offroad truck.
We stick our GoPro on the side of Crichetta, and we start the fun. For two hours we play with the truck, sliding on the road, making a lot of dust while some bored cows keep watching us from a distance.
Once our inner kids are happy and fulfilled, we are ready to enter Esquel.
Esquel is a quiet mid-size town with a perfect grid structure where blocks are all the same size. At some point in history, someone must have thought that it was too easy to drive around with such a tidy organisation, so they added random one-way streets to have some fun. It works. After five minutes we are driving around unable to return to the Tourist office we just saw on the main road. When we finally manage to get back to the office, it’s almost closing time. We have to use all our Italian charm and our funny Spanish to get the information we need.
Let’s go for the Trochita.
