One Apple A Day #162
El Bolson y Lago Puelo, January 4th, 2017
We don’t have a proper plan. We only know that we will drive South until we reach Ushuaia. We have a list of a few places worth seeing, but we purposefully decided to go with the flow.
This is why we are making a stop at the Waterfall of the Virgin.
It doesn’t look like a famous place. We are the only two visitors so we can enjoy the show in silence. The river jumps out of the rocks 150 meters above our heads. The water dances in the air, carried by the silent music of the wind, then falls at our feet forming a small green pond before rushing downward again, bouncing and twirling through the rocks.
It feels so good to be in nature. Far from the noise of our busy lives.
When we reached the small town of El Bolson, we are a bit disappointed. The town is lovely and lively with its small houses, the shops and restaurants on the main road. But we crave nature and emptiness, so we cross the town without stopping, and we head towards Lago Pueblo. This lake is one of the places on our list.
The lake is huge for our standards even if we know is not the biggest we are going to see in Patagonia. The wind blows strongly here. It plays with the lake and the mountains around. No matter how strong the wind is, it can only scramble the surface of the lake and bend the branches of the trees.
The view from the top of the hill is breathtaking, and we feel like we have been thrown inside one of those tv documentaries we use to watch dreaming as kids.
Covered by some trees, we decide that it is time to properly setup Crichetta. We carried from Italy this big sticker with the name of our project. After a few minutes and few curses, we place it on the side of our truck. From now on, everyone we will cross along the way will discover about Andemo.la.
