One Apple A Day #160
Ruta40, somewhere outside Bariloche, January, 4th 2017
According to the guides that we read at home, we should be in the pick of the Argentinian summer. Probably the guy managing the weather here didn’t read the same guides because it is cold outside.
But we don’t care. We are travelling on the Ruta40 inside Crichetta. The air may be freezing, but our hearts are burning.
Andy at the steering wheel, Nemo at the map, the world is our oyster.
We are so excited by the surrounding that we almost missed it. The first gift of the Ruta40 appears on the side of the road a few minutes after we started.
We have to stop and take a picture to prove that it is real.
On the roadside, a sign indicates the kilometres of the Ruta40 from the starting point. The km zero, is the most southern point of the Ruta40, out destination.
Nothing remarkable, we know. For sure there are plenty of these signs along the road.
But this is the first one we meet, and it says “1974”.
1974 is the year we are both born.
We can’t believe it.
She was waiting for us.
And here we are, Ruta40.
¡Hacia el sur!
