One Apple A Day #154
January 2nd, 2017
Somewhere over the Atlantic ocean.
We left Madrid a few hours ago. After the initial noise, everyone has settled down, and the plane is now quiet and silent.
The last days have been quite hectic for the both of us, with the festivities and the preparation for the journey. We didn’t have the time to think about what we are doing, the adventure before us.
The first leg of our journey, from Venice to Madrid has been just an appetiser to warm us up. Now, in the darkness of the plane that it is taking us thousands of kilometres from home, all the emotions are flowing in. The families we left behind, and that will have to carry on their life for one month without our support. Our works, our duties. Everything that we left behind.
When leaving for a trip like this, the hardest part is not deciding what to take with you. It is to decide what you have to leave behind.
