One Apple A Day #152
26th November 2016
Because we live thousands of kilometres from each other, any opportunity to meet is an event worth celebrating. So far, we did the whole preparation in parallel but separated. Each one bought his stuff and set up his gears on his own. Since we booked the flights, we communicated almost daily. Some days we shared just quick text messages on WhatsApp. On other days we spent up to an hour discussing and dreaming.
But this evening we are sitting together. In Andy’s kitchen, we review the map, compare the things we bought so far.
But there is something more. It’s hard to explain the feeling when you know that what has been a dream for years, is now real.
It is happening. There, in that kitchen, with the map unfolded in front of us. On paper, the Ruta 40 is just a red line running down along the Andes, but in our heads, it is already a long sequence of asphalt and gravel going to the horizon.
We are aware this is our last meeting before the trip. Andy takes out a bottle of red wine, a Cabernet by the “Bodega del Fin del Mundo”, a wine maker from Patagonia.
It is the first taste of the adventure that is awaiting for us in Patagonia.
It is time to start the countdown.
