One Apple A Day #132
Is it fear that is fueling the rage I can sense in the air?
The world is changing. Like it has always done. Change is life, and it’s going to happen, want it or not. What you can do is to be aware of the change and direct it to grow and make things better.
I love to observe people around me. Talk with them. I want to understand where this fear is coming from. Why everyone is so afraid of changes.
We live in a society that praises success and achievements. This would be okay if it weren’t for the fact that our measure of success is what you have. And this is the tricky bit. Because everything you have, you can lose. And this when fear kicks in. It gets in our blood, in our mind. We build walls. We close the doors. We push the others away.
The world population is growing fast. It doubled in the last 40 years. But the earth is the same and so its resources. When the dominant view is the idea of scarcity, we all end up fighting for the same resources. And everyone else becomes a competitor. An enemy. Someone who wants what I have.
Fear. Rage.
If your mind is dominated by fear what you are going to see will be only dangers. Some may be real, most will be only in your head. Unfortunately, our brain is not good at understanding the difference between reality and imagination. So, those fears that exist only in our head, they become real. And the impact on our life is even more real. How can we fight this fear?
The danger is real, but fear is a choice.
I believe we should focus on the only thing no one can take away from you.
You.
We must shift our focus from having more to being more. We should expand our mind, nurture our soul. I believe this is the only way to stop being worried. To remove these fear from our head and rediscover the beauty of life.
