Here it is, the pain.
Sooner or later, we all experience it.
It may spark at the physical level, like the stiff neck I woke up with this morning. Or we may feel it at the mental, emotional or soul level.
Sometimes we can't really locate it.
It is just everywhere.
Pain stills our attention and our ability to be present.
It's like a voice screaming in our heads, so the only thing we want to do is to get rid of it as soon as possible.
Yet, pain, in its own weird way, is a teacher.
So, what to do with pain?
The first thing I usually do is lower its voice.
I can't hear what it is trying to say as long as it is screaming in my head.
Then, I ask the pain some questions, and I listen.
Where are you coming from?
What caused you?
What are you trying to tell me?
Is there something for me to learn?
Like today, my stiff neck is telling me I need to move more and have a better posture.
