"All human beings retain the memory of their own eternity within themselves, and it is for this reason that everyone without exception is motivated to seek freedom, peace, happiness and love above all else." — Rupert Spira from The Nature of Consciousness.
Do you remember the last time you fell in love with someone or something?
You probably experienced a burst of energy, a sense of euphoria that made you feel extraordinary powerful.
When we are in love with someone or something, we wake up happier and energised. The whole world seems better; we feel better. More creative, beautiful, and funny.
That is what love does. It unleashes magic in our life.
Unfortunately, we usually convince ourselves that the source of all this magic is the object of our love.
We are happy because of that person in our life. We are energised because we got that job. We are so interesting because we have the car of our dream.
And so on.
We wrongly attribute the happiness, peace, freedom, and energy we experience to the object of our love, to someone or something other than ourselves.
And because we obviously love that feeling - who wouldn't love being happy, free, creative and energised - we develop greed and fear.
The fear of losing the source of the magic in our life. The greed to have more of it. When we do that, we create structures, visible and invisible, that slowly consume and exhaust that magic.
This happens because we forget that all that awesomeness and magic is already within us. The object of our love is just a catalyser. A trigger that reminds us of the miracle that we are.
Love is within you.
You just need someone or something to remind you to open the gates and let it flow.
