One Apple A Day #1187
This morning I began writing a post about consuming. I am struck by how much our society is built around the act of consuming. So much so that we began to consume ourselves. I feel that the great resignation has something to do with that; people realise that they are consuming themselves and decide that they need to nurture themselves instead.
However, while writing all these thoughts, I wasn't feeling inspired.
Sure, it was intellectually fun to play with this topic, but words were not flowing.
I was in a "by me" state. A "by me" state is one in which I am in the driving seat. I use my abilities and skills to create my way forward. In this case, "by me" posts result from a combination of knowledge and reflection. I gather a few points from my internal database - things I've read, discussed, or experienced - and connect them in new ways through reflection and creative thinking.
Some of these posts come out brilliant, others less so. I usually have fun writing them, but they also require some energy.
And then there are mornings where words just flow "through me" effortlessly. It is an entirely different writing experience in which I don't have to look for words and think about what I want to say and how. I just sit, and fifteen minutes later, the post it's there.
I'd love to be always in the "through me" state when I write, but I know that it's by going through all those "by me" state that I can unlock the "through me" experience.
