Every transformation journey begins with a discontinuity. It may be an external one, a change in the outside world. Something happens - or doesn't happen - in your world that alters your status quo. Something pushes you off balance. It may be a negative thing, like a loss or failure, or a positive one like a child's birth or a promotion. It is, however, something that shakes your world, and you know that it won't be the same.
It can also be something far from you, like a war somewhere or climate change, but you suddenly feel it is personal.
It stirs something within you.
Sometimes, the discontinuity is an inner one. You're going through your life, as usual; like you're having a coffee or talking with a friend and then it's there. The sudden realization that something has shifted within. An invisible yet undeniable discontinuity that changes how you see everything.
Whatever the source of the discontinuity, it's there, and it's up to you to choose what you want to do with it.
You can ignore it and do your best to act as if it never happened. You can deny it, hide from it, or try to forget it as soon as possible. You can push it out of your awareness, hoping that it won't come back in the future.
Or you can welcome it as an invitation, a call to begin a new adventure that will bring you closer to realizing your true self.
