I am a curious man. I like to think it's a good attitude; it has helped me immensely in my career and my life in general. Sometimes, it can also be a curse because I can't help but read, watch, and explore everything I cross. And that often gets in the way of my effectiveness and productivity.
So, I usually use social media as an opportunity to explore what I don't know. And I know for sure there is so much I don't know. That's why I follow the more diverse spectrum of people.
Lately, however, I've been struggling, and for the first time, I paused.
It is just too much right now. I know it's me; curiosity requires energy, and I don't have much at the moment.
However, when I scroll my social streams, it struck me how many people understand the world while I don't.
Yep, I said it.
I don't understand.
And I wonder if I want to understand.
While I think about this, two quotes came up from a book I'll read again soon; Liminal Thinking: Create the Change You Want by Changing the Way You Think by Dave Gray
"Just as one pair of hands cannot touch everything in the world, one pair of eyes cannot see everything in the world. One mind cannot know everything there is to know. We all can grasp some fragments of reality, but none of us have a grasp on reality as a whole."
"We can agree that there is a real world, an objective reality that we all share. At the same time, we must confront the fact that as human beings, the ways we experience that reality are inherently unique and subjective."
