One Apple A Day #1106
Is the universe telling me to go back, or is it testing my will?
I couldn't help but ask myself this question while the airport lady showed me where the queue began. It was so long that I couldn't see the check-in desk from where I was. And I wondered how they could process so many people in less than two hours.
And that was just the last challenge of a long sequence. Half an hour before, the Uber driver made a long unexpected detour because he set the wrong airport on the car's navigator. Twelve hours earlier, I realized that I had booked my flight for the wrong day, so I had to make a last-minute change. That happened because I had to quickly change my flying plan in the afternoon due to the new covid rules in the state where I was supposed to land. A plan that was disrupted only a few days before because I made a mistake with my visa application and had to reschedule my journey.
So, as I was waiting for my turn to present my ticket, documents, and forms, I wondered how to read all these omens.
What was the universe trying to tell me?
Apparently, to go home.
Then I remember the words of Viktor Frankl, "ultimately, man should not ask what the meaning of his life is, but rather he must recognize that it is he who is asked."
At that moment, I decided that life was asking me why. Why did I want to go? Was my motivation strong enough?
Those two hours, slowly moving forward, were like a long journey of introspection. And when I got to the desk, I knew I was ready to go.
I guess there isn't just one way to read the omens of the universe that works for everyone. The message is unique, as every human being is.
