One Apple A Day #1099
It's astonishing how easy it is to be fully present when you subtract everything. During my pilgrimage in India - but it has been the same in all the others I did - my mind and senses were expanded. Everything was so slow that I could see all the details.
I was fully present. To myself, others and the world around us. No distractions were stealing my attention. There was nothing to hide behind or filter what was happening inside and outside me. Everything felt so raw, pure and intense. It is such a creative experience.
The challenge begins when you go back home.
Here there are all the distractions you can imagine. Some of them are real, others I make them up. They are the results of years of habits and routines. Layers and layers of resistance and distraction are back in place. Ideas fade away while trying to move from my imagination to manifestation. I sit down to reflect or write, and I spend most of the energy trying to break through distracting thoughts.
So, here's my little revelation for the day. I want to bring the pilgrimage into my mundane life by carving moments of subtraction in my day.
I'll do some experiments and share the results in future posts.
In the meantime, how do you create bubbles of complete presence in your day?
