Since when we are kids, we are reminded to pay attention to our posture.
I remember my mum shouting at me, “keep your back straight,” while doing my homework.
The importance of a good body posture is well known.
Not only it is essential for our health, but it also impacts our mood.
Our brain reads our body signals when deciding the emotions to activate at any moment.
A good posture has a positive effect on your mood, on your confidence and vice versa. Our posture also mirrors what is happening inside us.
That’s why it is important to exercise to strengthen the muscles that help us gain a good posture.
As usual, the first step to improve your posture is paying attention.
Are you aware of your body posture when you walk, work, or are with others? Do you listen and observe your body?
Because if you don’t do it, your body at some point will raise its voice and force you to listen. At least, that’s what my back did a few years ago.
However, your physical posture is not the only one you need to pay attention to.
What about your emotional, intellectual or spiritual posture?
Do you take care of them?
Do you practice strengthening the necessary muscles?
Are you emotional aware? What about your mindset?
And your soul?
I regularly take some time to check my postures to see if there are habits that I need to change, leave or install. The small imperceptible things we do every day have a huge impact on our postures.
And your parents used to say when you were a kid, a good posture is vital.
