I love paradoxes, and life is full of them.
Yesterday, while I was talking to a friend, one of these paradoxes struck me.
We were talking about the fact that anything we do at any time, consciously or unconsciously, affects the world. At any time, there are infinite possibilities or directions before us, and with "us," I mean the whole universe. The action of every single human being crystalizes one of those infinite possibilities. So, anything I do determines the future of the whole universe.
Quite a power each one of us has, and quite a responsibility.
In the same conversations, we realized that any action, no matter how big and noticeable, is practically nothing compared to the infinity of the universe, both in time and space. As I wrote before, any amount divided by infinity is equal to zero. And that's a huge relief and an invitation to take life a bit more lightly. I remind myself of this anytime I get stressed out by a decision I have to make.
So, at the same time, anything I do means nothing and determines the universe's future. Quite a paradox to live.
My take on this is that I must be fully aware in everything I do, in the here and now, and then let go.
