One Apple A Day #07
“ok man, now I’m pretty scared. Are you fine?”
The shape moved. To be precise, only half of the shape moved. Mike’s vision was improving while his eyes adapted to the darkness. The half moving part was a man, at least this was the voice and the shape of it suggested. It was giving his back to Mike and trying to lift himself using one of the sit on the right.
The other part of the shape was lying on the floor. Completely still. It looked bigger than the moving half.
Mike reached for the guy who was trying to stand up and touch his shoulder.
“Do you need help? What’s happening here?”
“MMh, I just need to sit. Shit, it’s painful.”
The moving half of the shape slowly got in his knees and then turn and sit down, growning like if every minor movement was very painful.
Mike couldn’t see his face. He was still bended forward. Mike guessed that they have about the same build. The other half of the shape, that was still lying on the floor, looked taller and bigger.
“Where are we?”
Mike thought there was something familiar in the voice of the guy but he couldn’t grasp it. He was talking very low, almost whispering.
“I think we are in the train deposit at the north end of the Northern line, after High Barnet.”
“You think?”
“Hey, I felt asleep ok. I just woke up in the middle of nowhere and there are no lights outside. And who are you by the way? What happened? You seem in pain!”
