One Apple A Day #06
When Mike woke up it was all dark. He felt dumb. He took him a few seconds to adjust and realise where it was.
He was sitting inside a carriage in the tube.
“Shit!”
His own voice reverbed in the carriage. It was pitch black inside but he thought that he saw a glimpse of light outside. Maybe stars or the moon. Damn, he felt asleep again and he has arrived at the end of the line. Not again. This was the third time in a month. This new work was killing him.
“mmmhh”
What’s that. It’s not from outside. It seams someone moaning. Damn. It’s pitch black.
His vision was still blurred. This is what happens when you work too much and sleep in the tube. He’s not alone.
“Hey. Is there someone?”
Why they didn’t check when the train stopped? They always check if there is someone inside.
“mmmmh”
Again. The sound came from the other end of the carriage but Mike wasn’t still able to see anything. He called again.
“Hey you, are you ok?”
His eyes started to adapt to the darkness. He was able to see the shape of sits, the doors were all closed, outside it’s all dark but it looks like they weren’t in a station. He saw something. A dark shape close to the door connecting the carriage with the next one.
The shape moved.
Mike started moving. Slowly. He was scared. He started sweating even if it was a cool early spring night. The shape moved again.
“mmmhhh shit”
