It has to be one of the hardest things to do. At least, it is for me.
To let others be.
To let them follow their path and find their own way, and not the one I feel would be better for them.
To let them become who they are meant to be and not who I believe they could or should be.
I want others to be well and happy, feel good, achieve what they want, and realise their potential. I truly desire the best for them.
So, sometimes, I try to help others solve their problems and show them the way. However, even if the desire to help is a noble one, there are two problems.
First, people's experiences of reality are subjective. What I see as better for them may not be so from their perspective. It's just my ego telling me that I know better. Second, by solving their problem, I hinder their power to be the author of their lives. Again, that's my ego wanting to be the saviour.
But people are incredibly resourceful.
Anytime I create a space where others can see their resourcefulness and I trust their ability to create their way forward, they amaze me.
Let them be and do.
It could also be a good mantra for many leaders.
Thank you for writing this today! Beautiful post, Fabio! 🍀
