It Is In Your Eyes
#2017

What do you do when you need inspiration?
When you yearn for a spark.
An insight, an idea, a hint.
To get out of where you are.
To dispel the fog in your head.
To untie a knot in your chest.
To move forward.
You may talk to someone.
Maybe a friend or a mentor.
You may read a book.
Surf the web for some words of wisdom.
Scroll through social media in search of a quote.
Go to an exhibition.
Walk in nature.
I do all of them.
Sometimes, when I’m stuck, I combine them.
Yet, I’ve learned something.
Inspiration is not out there waiting to be found.
It’s already within you.
Those walks, those books, those conversations?
They don’t give you inspiration.
They awaken what’s already there.
Inspiration is in your eyes.
In how you see.
When you’re inspired, everything talks to you.
Being inspired requires practice.
Daily practice.
By doing something that inspires you every day.
A little thing.
Talking. Reading. Painting. Walking. Writing.
Whatever you like.
It will awaken the inspiration within you.
Slowly, then suddenly.
The whole universe becomes full of insights and ideas.
What will you do today?
