I Didn't Know I Was Ready

About a month ago, I wrote about being ready even when we are not prepared. I described being ready as a profound belief that I will find a way, no matter what life throws at me. Yet, even while I wrote it, I knew it was an almost impossible ideal. I'm not always ready. So many times, I feel all but ready. And somehow, I'm right. I'm always right.
Whether I feel ready or not, I'm right. My perception becomes my reality - believing I'm not ready often creates that truth, while trusting in my readiness builds the confidence to try.
In the end, it's a state of mind. But sometimes, we need a shift in perspective to see ourselves differently. On Saturday morning, I went out for one of my long walks with my dear friend Luca. And while we were talking about being ready, he remembered a song titled "We Didn't Know We Were Ready" by Ólafur Arnalds and Talos. And it made me think of all those times when life threw me into the water, and I had no choice but to swim. And every time, I was convinced I wasn't ready. But I was.
I didn't know I was ready.
You may be ready even if you don't know it. Our strength often exceeds our expectations when we have no choice but to move forward.
So, I'll leave you with this to ponder: What would you do today if you knew you were ready?
