Hibernation is a state of extreme energy conservation and inactivity that some animals undergo during the winter months. It allows animals to survive the harsh winter conditions and conserve energy when food is scarce.
Do you ever feel like you need to go into hibernation?
I do.
It is as if both my mind and body are asking me to slow down and conserve energy. My body refuses to get out of bed in the morning, and my mind wanders, unable to focus on anything.
Observing myself, I realised that sometimes it's due to a lack of energy, but it can also be due to a lack of interest. My mind goes into hibernation mode when I feel I have nothing compelling to work on.
Those days are tough.
On one side, I'd really want to give in to my need to hibernate and take the day off. Just relax and do nothing until the energy comes back or something on which it's worth spending my energy comes up.
Conversely, I feel guilty for not being as productive as I wanted. And for not making the progress I'd love to do.

What do you do when it happens?
