Farther & Faster
#2024
We create technologies to do more and better.
Produce more and more efficiently.
We need to rest and recover; technologies don’t.
We have cycles like every other biological form on the planet; technologies don’t.
Since the invention of the first tools, we have become faster and stronger through technology.
We can do more. Go farther and faster.
And we keep going farther and faster.
At what cost, though?
Do you ever feel that you can’t keep up?
Because humans still need to rest and recover.
They still have cycles even if they try to ignore them.
Aren’t we risking becoming machines just to keep up with them?
Always connected.
Always available.
Always performing, producing, consuming.
I’m out of breath just writing this.
Sometimes, my body reminds me that I’m human.
It reminds me to slow down, to pause, and breathe.
To call a friend.
Observe a sunset.
Play with my dog.
Before I jump back into this superfast world.
Being human is a daily practice.
