I saw the short video above a few days ago. It’s about the list of things that are not doing the thing.
And it hit me right there where it hurts.
There is only one way to do something, and it’s doing it.
Yet, countless times, I have dreamed and thought about doing something, but I didn’t. I lost count of all the times I said that I would do something, but I didn’t. I even promised myself or others to do something that I didn’t.
I’m well aware that the only thing that counts as doing something is doing something. Yet, it’s so easy to fall into the trap of talking instead of doing.
I don’t know; maybe it’s the influence of social media that made talking about something more important than doing the thing itself. Or perhaps it’s just that imagining and talking about something is as rewarding as doing it for our brain. Still, it’s not doing it. It does not create any meaningful impact.
It’s time for a new practice. One of the simplest and oldest in the world. One that may create a real difference in my life. Doing what I need to do.
