It is not the mountain we conquer but ourselves. — Edmund Hillary
Some days, even the tiniest task feels like the highest mountain. The exact path that was easy yesterday appears to be an insurmountable peak today. And the only thing that has changed is me.
Sometimes, it's a lack of energy, but most of the time, it's a lack of clarity. Any path becomes a challenge if I don't know where I want to go.
Writing, like any other creative practice, is a good example.
When I am clear about what I want to share, words flow, and writing anything is a walk in the park. When I am unclear, I have to push harder, and any step requires a lot of effort.
Every sentence feels like a mountain.
But when I get there, something inside shifts. And it's not the gratification of having conquered a new peak. It's the awareness that I can do it.
The mountain you're facing right now can be your opportunity to conquer yourself.
