Yesterday, I shared that I know nothing.
That's particularly true when it comes to forecasts and predictions.
It has been like this even before in my career when I was the expert who was supposed to know. At that time, however, I was good at telling myself I knew, even if I didn’t.
"Will it work?" is quite a common question at the beginning of any journey. In particular, the ones that are about changing or transforming something.
The unknown is scary, and we all want to be reassured that things will work out. Unfortunately, if we are honest, we must acknowledge that, more often than not, we don't know if and how things will work out.
What I believe, though, is that very often, at least, it is worth trying.
Even if we don't know if we will succeed.
Even if we won't succeed.
We can always make it worth it.
Yesterday evening, I watched a documentary about the recording of "We Are the World", a charity song released in 1985 by a super group made of the most famous US music stars of that time. It's called "The Greatest Night in Pop" and is worth watching.
I don't know how they pulled that off, and from the documentary, it's clear that even they don't know how they pulled it off. That project was full of "I don't know" from its inception to the night they recorded the song. They didn't know if they could write a good song, who would show up, or do it in time, and the list goes on.
Yet, imagine if they didn't try.
It was definitely worth it.
